Welcome to Jr. High!!
The 7th/8th grade students are the primary student leaders of the school. They are responsible for the daily flag raising, lunch serving and clean up, running the AV system during chapel, and yearbook design, in addition to many other lead roles in the school.
Some of the special events for the 7th/8th grade students include a two-day retreat that allows the students to bond together as a class, learn more about their leadership role in the school, and go in-depth into God’s Word. This year, we went to Twin Lakes Bible Camp. Toward the end of the school year, the 8th grade students also go on their own special trip designed to draw them closer together before heading off to high school. At the very end of the school year, we hold a Jr. High Graduation Ceremony for the 8th grade students as we send them off to the next stage of their lives.
CCS works closely with Fort Dodge Senior High School to create a smooth transition for the students. The students meet with the local high school counselor, design their high school schedules, and even spend a day visiting the school. Over the past years, we have taken pride in the compliments that teachers from Fort Dodge Senior High have given about how academically, physically, and emotionally prepared our students are when they get to high school. CCS has had many alumni in key leadership positions at the high school, which shows that the leadership skills taught at CCS have proven to be very successful!
