Students First Education Savings Accounts (ESA)

All Iowa resident K-12 students are eligible, regardless of income, for funds from the State of Iowa, starting April 2025. These funds can be used to cover tuition, fees, and other qualified education expenses at accredited nonpublic schools in Iowa.

If this is the first time signing up for ESA, a parent or legal guardian must create an account in Odyssey using an email address and password. A confirmation email will then be sent from Odyssey. Once the email address is confirmed, the parent or guardian can log in to the Odyssey portal to start the application process.

Parents/guardians with an existing Odyssey portal account will log in to the existing account to begin the application for the 2025-2026 school year.

After the Odyssey application has been approved, the parent/guardian may then select the school of choice for the 2025-2026 school year.

For more information, please see the Iowa Department of Education.

School Tuition Organization Scholarships (STO)

School Tuition Organization Scholarships (STOs), are funded by private donors and are administered by North Central Iowa STO. All families at or below 400% of the Federal Poverty Guideline qualify even if you receive ESA funds from the state of Iowa.

The deadline for STO applications is June 30, 2025.

Families can receive both forms of tuition assistance. Applying for both ESA and STO funds gives your family the best chance at receiving the most assistance and makes a private Christian education more affordable for all families. Remaining ESA funds from previous years can be used to cover future tuition costs or can be used for other eligible educational expenses.

CCS Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available to families in need of assistance that were not able to apply for the Iowa ESA or STO Scholarship due to ineligibility or mid-year enrollment.

The Scholarship Committee will carefully review all applications. All applications will be reviewed and decisions will be based upon eligibility, need, and money available.
